What is the difference between you and a broker?
There are two primary and important distinctions between Woodward Financial Advisors (a registered investment advisor) and a broker.
First, we act as a fiduciary for our clients. This means that we are held to the highest standard of legal care in managing a portfolio or giving financial advice. We place the client’s interests above our own and act in your best interest at all times. In contrast, brokers are held to the less stringent “suitability” standard.
Second, we do not sell any financial products. We make our investment recommendations based on what is in your best interest. In contrast, a broker is paid a commission to sell products for their company, which means that the products they offer may not be the best ones for you.
